This year, Kaifa made it into the Top 10 ranking of “China’s Top 30 most powerful Energy Meter Suppliers of 2011” list, in an evaluation and survey jointly organized by a number of procurement and tendering websites.
According to China Electricity Council’s “Preliminary Statistics of National Power Industries for 2010”, investments in the construction of China’s power grid reached a figure of RMB341 billion, with the scale of investments forecasted to remain high. With China’s rapidly developing economy and increasing demand for electricity, issues such as how to optimize operation mode, improve energy efficiency and achieve energy saving are of utmost importance if the power industry is set to develop further. Following in the trend is the metering industry, which looks set for high demand. With the National Energy Saving Policy of requiring the power industry to improve electricity demand management, high-performance power meters, smart meters, electrical information collection systems and terminal products such as energy metering, monitoring and analysis products are being brought into the limelight.
As the industry for electrical instruments continues to grow, the industry has highlighted certain issues and concerns. As such, a variety of business models have to be applied in order to guide the healthy development of the industry. Therefore, in an attempt to further regulate the industry environment, the bidding and competition to be the Top 30 most powerful energy meter suppliers of 2011 emerged.
Kaifa started out in the electricity metering business in 1995, and has become the largest supplier of intelligent products just 16 years after its foray into the industry. Their result in the ranking is yet another confirmation that Kaifa is still going strong. Kaifa will continue working with smart instruments (meters, water meters, gas meters, electrical measuring instruments), electric power automation (electric energy management systems for information collection, distribution automation, power quality management), new energy and access management.
